Unable to connect to backend tables (1 Viewer)

Today I have had 4 instances of the same application (running at different sites) not being able to auto connect to the backend (on network server).

A compact and repair fixed the problem. In all cases the compact and repair process reported that the database was in an inconsistent state.

So I don't have a problem atm, but I'm lucky to have this issue once a year, let alone 4 occurrences on the same day.

At this stage I don't know what could have caused it, but I'm thinking it may be a MS update of some sort that the customer's IT dept may have pushed out. Seems too coincidental that it's the 1st of March and also the first day after a leap year!

If anyone has any clues as to the culprit please advise.

There have been several recent issues with refreshing links to ODBC tables in recent versions of Access.
If you had supplied your Office version, build & update channel it would be possible to give a definitive answer
e.g. Office 365 Monthly Enterprise Channel Version 2312 Build 16.0.17126.20190
