Unable to format report txt box using NZ

I am using

field_ytd_01: Nz([field_ytd_01],0)

in qry, however, i can not format the report. The format drop down list is empty. The report shows 123456 the correct results, however i need to have commas 123,456. Thanks

Try this:

field_ytd_01: Format(Nz([field_ytd_01],0),"#,##0")
