any ideas to to solve this problem?

I just finished my Windows XP SP2 updates, Office 2003 updates, using Windows update, and now I can't login to SQL Server 2000 through the ODBC driver used in MS Access.

SQL Server login:
Connection failed
SQL State 42000
SQL Server Error 4064
Cannot open user default database, login failed.

SQLSRV32.dll 2000.85.1117.00

any ideas? I have the latest MDAC updates as well, and I suspect its something about the changes in security in the updates, that the production group hasn't implemented, but that is just my hunch.

thanks

What is the default database in the ODBC driver? Does your SQL Server account have access to that DB?

thanks

the DBA had deleted the default database, and then told me that all of my class of users shouldn't have had that database as a default in the first place. . .

never mind. . .
