Hello

I wondered if anyone could help me?

We have an ODBC link to an Access datbase at one of our clients offices so we can run queries and pull data, we keep it on a stand alone PC which we are going to upgrade.

I am trying to find ou if there is a way (without copying all the sql in to word!) of saving all our queries and tables somewhere so when we have installed Access on the new PC we can get all our queries on the new system?

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot

Sally

Can't you just copy the db files from the old computer to the new computer? The Access queries are stored in your custom *.mdb files.

ghudson is right if your old system has network access and so does your new system - except there are a couple of steps involved...

I would make a copy of the old system .mdb file over your network. Put the file in a place that will be accessible after the upgrade. Then, when you have done the upgrade, you can open Access in the new system and tell it to get external data. Find the old .mdb file, tell it to get its stuff from that. You'll get the chance to transfer darned near everything as a single operation, pretty much.
