Update field from a query

I have a field in a form and i need to fill this field with a query value.

I created the query and i added it at Field properties ->Defaul Value as follows: [qrySUMApprovedArea]![SumOfApprovedArea] but i get no values at the field.

If i set Form Recordsource to the query then i get a non-updatable form.

Any suggestions?
