updating 1 table after inserting into another table

Hi, I am new to access but have programmed using other databases before. I have a table vehiclePart which stores detials of parts used on vehicles. When new entry is added to this table I want to reduce the stock levels of this part in nother table - 'Parts'. I would be able to do this using another database no problem but I am new to the interface and way of doing things in access. If anyone could helpo me out it would be much appreciated.
