Using public function from private sub?

Access has many peculiarities; sometimes just copying the form will correct them when there aren’t any obvious errors

YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I fixed it, thank the gods!! I had a field called cbStatus which I could sworn I renamed... but just to be sure I checked again... nope! Still cbStatus! Changed the name and all is good now :) Wow, I knew it was something simple and stupid.

Rich -- although I fixed the problem, you remind me of another evil I had to battle with this project. I got an upgrade here at work to a P4 2.4 running Win2K. Well, apparently there is a bug with the version of common controls on this machine and Access 2000. If you copy/paste ANY form or report controls, it corrupts the database with NO resolve. I literally had to rewrite my project from scratch because of this stupid bug. My backups were corrupted, too, since I had copied something earlier on but never used the form module for that form. That is where the corruption starts, and it takes everything else with it. MS even has a patch, but they don't release it  Now I can't copy/paste anything or my work will face the same demise. it was actually only documented as effecting form controls, but I tested it once I rebuilt with reports and the same thing happened.

Anyway, thank you guys for all of your wonderful help! Sorry to have wasted your time like this, but I don't think I would have lasted this long without some support :)

PS. That's a pretty creepy avatar you've got there Rich, I like it! :)

I suspect Microsoft reduced the number of records returned when searching the knowledge base because it was embarrassed by the number of bugs in A2k
