Hi Guys,

I have two versions of access that for the time being I need to use on the same machine.

Access 97
and
Access XP (2000?)

Everytime I use the XP version the 97 version needs to be reinstalled. I'm assuming that This may be just an installation issue, but before I remove them both and re-install them (access 97 first) just checking that this shouldn't be a problem and both can be run in the same windows environment

I did this with A97 and A2K a while back - it was mostly fine - the only problem was that double-clicking an MDB file (as opposed to launching access then doing File>Open) would try to open the database into whatever version of Access had been used last - even if this was not appropriate.

Access 2000 would occasionally pop up an installer/configuration dialog as if it had only just been installed, too.

I have the same problem, but I just use the cancel button and Access 2000 then loads. Not got round to seeing if this can be stopped.

There are several utilities out there for launching a Db to the correct version, usually called Dashboards. Here is a link to one of them:
