Using Word .doc as an Access Form

This may sound far-fetched, but is it possible to use a Word document like an Access form?

My clients would like to enter data into a Word document and save it to their Access database. If so, where could I find information accomplishing this task?
 
You can.

Go to the help files in Microsoft Word (97) and type in (or scroll to) "exporting to Word" (without the quotes

Press Display and choose "Import a Word text file into Microsoft Access" from the Topics Found Window.

I would question why they would want to do this because, in my point of view, life becomes more difficult when you try to import 'free' text data into a table format like Access'. However, if you must...good luck.

To answer your question: The company has existing Word documents that they're familiar with and they would like to continue working with those documents. I thought that there might be a way to make a form look identical to their existing documents and still have the same functionality as an Access form. The way it sounds, that's not possible without a lot of work.

I have no doubt that you could make a form in Access look like the Word Documents that they are presently using.

I would suggest doing this before I would suggest importing Word Documents

If you only want to store the complete Word-Documents inside an Access table, then you could use the Document Administration Wizard.
