validation rule

Hi...

I am trying to write a validation rule in design view of a table that will allow a fixed 8 digit number in the field called ID.

Because i am a newbie can anyone please tell me how can i do it...?

Tables are basically the place where you store data. If you want to manipulate the data, make certain requirements, etc. you do it in a form. I do not know if you want this ID to be the primary key, but I would suggest that you use an Autonumber as your primary key and then if you want another 8 digit number as some type of identifier then I suggest that you do that with code in a form. If you can be more explicit in what it is you want this number for I am sure that someone here can show you the best way to accomplish what you want.
