ok guys i am having a mind blank moment here. What i want to do is i have a form that has an option box to give various options on how i want to view the form e.g (pdf, email etc) this form is called "frmREPORTOPTIONS" this side of it i am fine with. However my problem is i want to store which report i want to change based on the form i open "frmREPORTOPTIONS" from i know this should be pretty easy but just having difficulty figuring out how.

Thanks in advance

From the one form you refer to the other form by using:

Forms!YourOtherFormName.YourControlName

bob sorry i mean its more that the report isnt an option or control on that other form i mean to say if form1 opens frmREPORTOPTIONS set strrpt to rptFORM1 etc

Still not understanding exactly what you are actually doing.

But, after reading things again, I think you might be able to use OpenArgs to pass the form name to frmReportOptions.

If you search on OpenArgs then you should get plenty of results to look at.

Thanks Bob that is what i am looking for now to figure out how to use it :)

Bob thanks again mate that is exactly what i was wanting. All working great :)

Hope someday I get capable enough to repay the favour with all the help everyone on here has given me.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted. :)

Believe me, I was there at one point too. So, don't worry, it will turn the other direction eventually.
