Hi,

Is "Staroffice" VBA compatible?

Fuga.

Easy answer there. No! Depending on what you want to do there may be alternatives though. What is it you are wanting to do? AFAIK, Star Office is Sun's version of OpenOffice.org, although I may stand corrected here. OpenOffice.org has its own macros, although I've not tried using this feature yet so I don't know what language it is in. There is an open source project which attempts to be like VB (but not!) on Open Source platforms, but at the moment you'd have to run it in Cygwin if you don't have a *NIX box. Sorry for the ramble, you might of noticed Open Source is of interest to me!

Thanks for the reply.

The reason I asked was I wondered wether I should recommend a friend to buy office even though he´s already got staroffice.

I guess the answer is yes. He needs VBA.
