vlookup with sum

trying to get vlookup and sum but unsucessful yet. help will be appreciated.

for example

id text vlookupresult id2 value
1 aa 15 1 3
2 bb 7 1 8
3 cc 4 1 4
4 dd 7 2 7
3 4
4 7

vlookup returns a value.
If you want that value to be a sum, then sum must be in the matrix.

If the matrix shows col(3) as the result of the Vlookup,
then you only need sum(col3) for the sum. Right?
