I have a Samsung DVD player recorder with a VHS deck as well. I can transfer video toDVD but it produces a vro file which willnot play on my PC. Can I convert it, how what are the implications.

All comments welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Have copied the vro to hard disk, changed to vob and then Nero Show time will play it but without sound and says I need extra bit at around 79$. Dolby sound ?.

DVD shrink says it cannot read the info file.

Had it mentioned that some of the problem could be associated with teh quality settings on the DVD recorder. Perhaps the sound recording selected is aggravating the problem.

Real amateur at this. Normally stick the dvd in and it plays cos never had a recorder before.

Reading your link seems that it is relatively new and as yet there does not seem to be much around in conversion software.

Thanks again for your time

Might want to check the manual. Also depending on what you use to change it to vob the audio track might have gotten dropped.

I want to say I use DVD Crypter to rip. I use FlaskIt to convert. Both let me select what I get/convert audio or video.

DVD Decrypter and FlashMpeg is what they are called.

Doom9.org is a good site with information about DVD related programs, etc.
