When access 2003 opens the database an error about not finding vviewer.dll comes up. When you click ok the database opens and runs fine. I believe this happened after using my 2007 copy of access to test the active x control for visio viewing thing.

I googled and searched the crap out of this, does anyone know how to stop the error in any way!?

Maybe my best bet is to import everything into a new database file...any ideas?

Try opening the database while holding the shift key down.

Next go to the VBA window and then to TOOLS > REFERENCES and uncheck the reference for the viewer.

Close and reopen.

in addition, uncheck everything that says "MISSING:" next to it. Allen Browne also has a page with a function on it to delete all of the broken references automatically...

That didnt seem to work. I tried it both checked and not checked. I wonder if I just make a office\12 directory and drop a copy of my vviewer.dll in there will make the message go away even though they have 2003?

Also, I didnt find any references with "MISSING:" so im probably good to go there, huh...

Geez, I wonder why boblarson's suggestion didnt work...It makes sense. When i went into references, nothing for vizio was even checked.

If you have code in there or a copy of the viewer in a form or report then it would need to be on each user's machine and registered.

I checked the database on the actual users machine and removed the missing reference there.

That worked! Thanks a lot!
