I tried putting in some rules in my form in the validation rule property but am running into a problem. The warning displays as it should but after you enter something in the control, the warning still appears. Or if you change the entry the warning comes back and again it says it is null or at least thinks it is.

Obviously, it is going in the wrong place so where should it go? This makes the user frustrated. The warning should go away when text or a selection is put into the control and only appear if it is truly blank.

What is the expression you are using?

In the validation rule I am using Is Null. Then if it supposedly is the mesaage apprers.

Validation rule of "Is Null" means that the field has to be null in order to be accepted. Try "Is Not Null".

Am using Access 2003 and "Is Not Null" also works, both seem to work just fine.
