Has anyone used web apps to build a website? If so, what have you used?

I first tried Drupal, but I found it to be incredibly bug-ridden. I'm now trying to use Joomla and even though the interface is very well laid out, I'm finding it difficult to figure out how to use it to my advantage.

The problem I'm running into is that I'm feeling that trying to use a web application like this 2 are ending up being a waste of my time, simply because I can't seem to get the "kb" layout that I want. My site is, more or less, a kb and documentation site. Obviously a CMS would be appropriate, but I can't seem to make any of them work for me.

Is there anyone here that can shed some light on these things? If you've used CMS layouts, what have you done to make it work for you, and in the shortest amount of time possible?

Advice appreciated folks. Thanks!

WordPress web apps are best known to be customized, or you can use bubble visual programming
