i have some question...
how can i group my report to weekly, mounthly and yearly...
i also want to know how to make the report especialy finance report...
i want to make only can open by somebody not everybody..
can anybody help me..
tq:confused:

Presumably your report is based on a query. You can put parameters into the query so that the users enter StartDate and End Date - that way it'll calculate any time period they enter. On the Start date field put [Enter Start Date] and on the End Date field put [Enter End Date], put that into the criteria line.

Secondly, if the database is on a server, you can pick up the username of the person and use that to exclude access to the report.

i.e if they click a button to run the report it won't run and you can make it display a message box saying they don't have access to this report. You can put the code in the OnClick event of the button.

Do a search on this forum for code on picking up UserName - I think the code has been posted here before. It also depends on what version of Acces you are using.

What is it about Colin's reply that you don't understand? He's spelt out quite clearly some ideas for you.

how to put parameter

i want to know how to add the start date and end date to query?

To add a parameter, you need to enter

Between [Start Date] and [End Date]

in the criteria line of your query in the date column. You can write what you like inbetween the square brackets so if you wanted to write [Enter Start Date] etc that's ok. The Between ... statement will pull all the dates out between the dates you enter.

Hope this helps.
