Hi , I have created a database in MSAccess version 2002 which contains a lot of forms to allow administration of data. These forms rely heavily on combos to look up records for editing. It all worked beautifully if i do say so myself! I have recently upgraded to version 2003 and found that none of my combo boxes/forms work!!. On starting up my access database i get multiple message boxes asking for the values from these combos, where it did not do this before.- the format of the message being MAIN_FORM!SUBFORM!COMBO1.VALUE <prompted for value>

i also tested this separately by creating a test form with combo from which the value is used in a query which populates the sub form (the format for most of the forms on my database) and found that this does not work!!
can anyone tell me why? this is so frustrating!!

Cheers

I've recently converted about 70-80 Access 97 and Access 2000 dbs to Access 2003 and I've had no problems at all.

Have you converted your db or are you just running an Access 2002 with Access 2003. I'm just wondering if it is the format of Access 2002 that is causing the problem.

Try creating an new db with one table , one query and one form. Try this with Access 2000 format and Access 2003 format.

Did you remove Access 2000 before installing Access 2003 or was Access 2002 just replaced by 2003.

Finally are you experiencing any security problems.

what i might be going wrong

although using access 2003, the file still opens in version 2000. when i convert to 2002-2003i still get the same errors, so i will try and create a new db in 2003 and see what happens..

also i am getting a security warning when i open the access database saying that the code may harm my computer- is it possible this is the problem?

Fixed!!

Just when i was about to throw in the towel! It was the Security settings after all:- It was disabling the code. i changed by security setting to LOW and the whole thing has sprung back into life!!

i can sleep easy tonight!

Thanks very much for your help it would never have twigged with me.

Cheers
