what forum software is the best?

i sincerely like vbulletin. and I despised utter access for the longest time because :

1) yoiu couldn't read the small type! and
2) the threading structure of the pages took way too much time to navigate through, and you couldn't read previous posts on the same page (that i know of anyway)

but i guess that's changed now. the new interface looks great! what's your favorite company?

As a user I prefer vBulletin or SMF. As an admin, vBulletin is the only one I have used so I like that best.

Personally, I like phpbb software the best. It's open source and free and there are tons of ways to customize it. There are also tons of scripts that can be incorporated into it.
