The web browser control defaults to an older version of IE. Maybe you could try setting it to emulate a newer version.

the other thing that might be relevant here is Microsoft's obsession with replacing IE with Edge and forcing users to do it. IE is dead, not to mention that they are losing ground to firefox and chrome. So, out of desparation, they are pushing Edge down the throats of consumers. Actually, a windows update just 2 months ago installed Edge as the default browser to replace IE completely and MS didn't tell anyone, as far as I could tell.

That *could* be related to this. Not sure.
