Hello I am a total newcomer to the world of Microsoft Access and I have been given a task by our tutor to create a database Using the programme.
I have set up my tables and my forms and some querys but I am unsure how to do a simple task.
The idea of the database is as follows.
A customer books a wedding car,coach or carriage for a specific date.
I have a convoy of vehicles , e.g. 3 cars , 3 coaches and 3 limos.
and I have Drivers that have certain skills for example Bob can drive a carriage but not a car , whilst Bert can drive all 3, they are also entitled to holidays during the year , but to keep it simple I only let them have one holiday a year e.g 5th may till 5th June
What I need to do is Create invoices for bookings (done)
create invoices for deposits paid (done)
and when a booking is made check if a driver with the req skills is available for the date (not sure how to do that)
I can work it out in a semi basic
If order is made , check if driver with skill is available and check if vehicle is already booked for that date, if both vehicle is available and driver is available then process order else return error, but how this is done in Access im unsure.
