I HAVE A FIELD I WANT TO BE ABLE TO ENTER A PARAMETER FOR WHEN I RUN THE QUERRY. BUT IT NEEDS TO INCLUDE A WILD CARD AT THE END OF DATA ENTERED. HOW TO DO THIS?

thanks that worked great.

I have another problem if you don't mind helping.

I work in an elections office the stuff i'm working on doesn't allow me to put a lot of time to make it streamlined.

I have a comments field with different lines in it .
I need to pull the info from specific lines how can i do this in a querry in design mode. I don't know sql

JLAZ,

The multiple lines are not a problem, just put:

Like "*" & [YourParm] & "*"

Pulling info from specific line

That didn't seem to work.

here is what the comments field looks like

COMMENTS: SETH BURT / MARY WAGNER 909-867-2704
8AM-12PM
1.63" IN AND 1.25" OUT DOORSILL
APPARATUS BAY

I need to pull line three and nothing else how do I do this.

JLAZ,

The Instr function will find your string. Now you have to search
backwards for the carriage-return, and forwards for the
carriage return. Then use the Mid function to take out that
segment.

another thing is not every record has something in every line.
