Win 7 64-bit notebook will not connect to Internet

My Win 7 notebook, 64-bit, suddenly stopped connecting to IE.
It shows that the connection to the home wireless network is strong and active.
I have run anti-virus and spyware/ malware software.

The message is:
the device or resource is not setup to accept connections on port http

Sounds like something modified your Windows Firewall to shut out all traffic. Have you checked to see that the Firewall isn't blocking everything.

Is this on a wireless connection? Have you tried connecting wired to see if you can connect online then? It's usually good to rule out issues with the wireless signal and router before starting to modify stuff on the laptop side.
