does anyone know how many bytes of memory I can expect to deplete over a few years if I turn on windows updates all the time?

I never ever use them, but the other day I decided to turn them on again and I immediately got 600MB in one package, and now over the last few days I get probably 50mb of updates a day. It seems like it's always downloading something.

I have about 600GB of space on this drive, but I'm wondering if there is a site that gives good info on this sort of thing. suggestions anyone? any appreciated. thanks!

Er none :p (I know you meant hard drive :))

It all depends on the size of the update (obviously), your hard drive may decrease in size as updates are installed but you can always delete the old install files located in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistibution\Download (for Vista and Win7).

I always have updates set to notify but don't download for more control.;)

Oh btw that 600MB might have been a service pack which contains all previous updates in one file.
