does anyone know if access 2003 will run on a windows XP embedded machine?
not building an app, just running one.

Thanks

What is a windows XP embedded machine?

Windows XP Embedded is a conpacted version of Windows XP. Built to fit on systems with only storage devices like 2 gig compact flash cards. Can be installed on larger harddrives, but usually on solid state media, 2 - 4 gig CF.

These are primarily in businesses where the user won't be doing anything but working.

Dont take my word for it but i think Access 2003 will work with Windows Xp embedded. It is possible to run applications like Windows Media Player 9, and other windows components so its safe to assume that the Runtime DLL files are present, also it is possible to add cab files and drivers etc. You should get in touch with Microsoft for a definitive answer though.
Best Regards,
Chris

To run an Access db, you need to have the retail or runtime version of MSAccess installed. Both require large numbers of files and storage space. Your .mdb is tiny compared to the support files needed to run it.
