Hi guys

i have realised on my main pc ( which i dont use that often ) that most of my wizards do not work. the items not working are-

Switchboard Manager
Add-Ins
Access Database
SQL Server
Analyze Table
analyze Performance
Object Dependancies

These are all on the "Database Tools" tab

in design mode of a form, i cannot use a wizard to

add a button
add a combo box
add a list box
add an embedded form

i have re-installed Access, re-installed Office, made sure the wizards folder was in the trusted folders section of the settings.

i found a link in the Utter site where someone had the same problem. they fixed it with a registry change but ive bee nthrough that too and all paths lead to the right place.

does anyone else know how to fix this? the error messages i get are as follows-

The Database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is first deleted. Deleting the VBA project removes all code from modules, forms and reports. You should back up your database before attampting to open the database and delete the VBA project

The wizard you've requested is not installed or is in a bad state. Please install or reinstall the wizard. If you do not have permission to do this on your computer, please contact your help desk representative

help greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I know that your post is old, however, you may still face it, or maybe you reinstalled OS.

To get back all wizards simply, do as follow:-

(Office Button===>Access Options===>Trust Center===>Trust Center Settings===>Trusted Locations===>Add new location===>Browse===>

In the browsing wizard go to the last installation path of your office then the folder Office12\ACCWIZ\)

Below the Browse Button you will see a check box with "Subfolders of this location are also trusted" you may check it won't harm.

Hey Man, I signed up specifically to reply to you

I hope it was helpful

Hi

thanks for signing up specifically. Very admirable.

I have tried your suggestion many times however, no such luck at present.

Thanks

Nigel

Hi

thanks but that link is for simple switching the wizards using the toolbar :)

I have the location set in trusted locations but nothing. I've set the permissions to everyone etc too.

This problem happens with ALL existing and ALL new databases. Hasn't anyone else had this problem?

Hi Nigel
I’m glad of your concern and try, however, Microsoft they have an office cleaning tool, it deletes all the registry entries of MS Office, I have but I don’t know whether or not (exe) attachments are allowed or not on this forum, so try to find it. After running it you will see a “DOS” window opens n closes several times then you may restart your machine. After restarting delete the folder contains the old office it completely harmless to your system. Then reinstall office 2007 again it should work properly.
Here is some guiding lines:-
1- Make sure that your windows OS has all the latest updates especially the “.NET” update,
2- While installing in the “installation option” window click the root Microsoft Office drop menu and choose “Run all from my computer” option.
3- And finally check the installation path is it (c “the destination root partition”:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\) or not, if yes carry on with the installation if not kindly write it down then after finishing check my previous post. “IN SHAA ALLAH” it will work.
I have this Microsoft tool if you need, check with the forum admin if you can provide me with your email I can send it to you, however its name is “msicuu2.exe” search for it first.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW
