workgroup information files

Have just converted my access 2000 database to access 2003 but cannot
get it to recognise the workgroup information file in the shortcut.
I am 99.9% sure the shortcut is correct as have included the Office11 bit.
Have spent ages trying to get it to work but wont work.

Do i need to modify the workgroup information file or create a new one to work with Access 2003.
If i modify it or create a new one it won't lock me out will it or anything.

Have a lot of data stored on the works server in back end database !.

Make a Copy of the Workgroup File. Try compacting the copied Workgroup File using Access2003. After compacting it will prompt for Converting the File into later Version. Cancel it if you plan to use older Version databases with the new compacted Workgroup File.

After compacting Join the New compacted Workgroup file and try opening earlier version databases and new versions.

If you run into problems you can join the original workgroup file.
