I am now at the extent of my knowledge on the database I am trying to do to manage my selfbuild house. Not sure which forum a post like this fits so the general one seemed best.

I have created the attached so far. Please take a look.

as it stands. I think it is nearly there in the functionality that I am after.

I want the database to

1. collect prices from various suppliers using the data collection tool within access, ,and store that price in the price table.

I then want to be able to add the materials to a purchase order, based on the lowest supplier price for a given group of materials.

SO my question is this. Would someone please take pitty on me and have a look at what I have done thus far. probably version 500. and maybe give me a little guidance on how I best achieve my goal.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

i dont know vba at all.

I have attached my database and welcome all coments/crticisms.

Ok

I guess that this is not the right way to go about getting help.

I think I better start a new thread with specific issues.

For those that downloaded the database. any suggestions?

Not fully sure what your looking for as far as help goes but a couple of suggestions: trying using cmd buttons for record navigation, form navigation and reports and quieries this makes it easier to navigate through your database. You also want to try and make your information easier to understand and read. when your looking at information you dont always need the look up field there, you have the option to change it to a text field, so that way the information doesnt have the chance to accidentally be changed. hardware id 101 is this and cant be something else. Your create purchase doesn't go to anything maybe try creating an after update event or making a full purchase order form for that. just a couple of small suggestions that can help you get going a little more.
