XP security

Hi all.

I have an access database with workgroup security enabled that has been converted from Access 97 to Access 2002. Since then, the security is behaving strangely - prompting for passwords when it shoudn't and, more seriously, nor prompting when it should. I've done nothing to the workgroup file itself. Why is this happening? Do I need to recreate the workgroup, or convert it over to 2002, or what?

If you have no further users in Ac97, convert the workgroup file to the lowest version of Access in use.

When you converted the DB, did you convert your users to XP? If so, they need to rejoin the Workgroup because it moved sometime between Win97 (Ac97) and WinXP (AcXP). Also, your current workgroup membership is a registry entry. If you upgraded your user OS's, there is no guarantee you will retain that membership.
