is there any other way of making an access database more compact without using winzip as i dont have this program

Winzip is available free from www.winzip.com (evaluation version, but it works fine). Later versions of Windows have compression capabilities built in.

I know this is probably redundant, but hopefully you are aware of the "compact and repair database" feature in Access.
