I recently started using Access 2007 and I was expecting better command buttons but I'm still getting the same old crappy buttons. I included a picture of my button and one closer to what I would like. Is there some setting to get a better looking button or do I have to import a new control?

If you download one of the sample databases provided by Microsoft you will find there is a nice selection of button's available within them.

having said that - you can resize your button and change the pic to text

the only difference then is the fancy blue border round your button. - which admittedly does look nice, but i bet your users are more interested in functionality

Have you set access to use windows themes? jpeg attached shows location in 2003 just a thought :)

I believe all you need do is enable:
OfficeButton>CurrentDatabase>Use Windows-themed Controls on Forms

Thanks! That's just what I was looking for. I know it's just aesthetic but it was still bugging the hell out of me.

No problem RG pointed out the menu option for 2007 so credit go's to him :) and the standard stuff is a bit bland when your used to the current windows interface :)
