Still having trouble with new record

Is the ALLOW ADDITIONS property of the form set to Yes?

Yes, I can see it on the screenshot that the Additions is enabled.

So, how big is your database file? Did you run Compact and Repair first and then ZIP it? If you have WinXP or above you can just right click on the file and select SEND TO > COMPRESSED FOLDER which will zip it. Once you have compacted and then zipped is it still above 2Mb?

Wow,
I was getting so flustered with this, I didn't even Zip it. Here you go.

It works on mine. Maybe the compact & repair thing did it or it's a Security issue. Bob has some links about this.

A question: Does the "protocol" allow anyone to take part of the attached example?

Thanks!

Apparently it's a Sample database in Access probably called Inventory Management so if you have Access 2007 you can get it there. The OP has made some changes to this one so you're better off getting a fresh copy (if you really need it).

I understand, no i do not need this particular example. I will look into the sample databases in my Access..Good idea. Sorry to disturb. Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure why but it may well be the registry settings.

But glad that's sorted:)

Probably has the wrong options set in one, or both, places here:

Oh yes, that's right. I'm now remembering setting that option when I first started using 2007. :D
