My database has a automatic dialler interface, which selects a client from a text file and inserts the reference number into the search field of the switch board. It then pops the appropriate client record in the details form. This is all managed by Send keys? Which are programmed into the dialler? Have produced and an example to illustrate my point.

ALT K placed the cursor in the search field.
Alt O Opens the records selected in the search field .

My Question is where are these shortcuts held and can they be view?

The version of Access is 2003.

Any advise would be appreciated

The macro named AutoKeys does some, the name of a button does others. The two you mention are in the button name:

Find Rec&ord

The letter after the & will be underlined and respond to the Alt-Key combination.

Pbaldy, thank you very much for taking time out to answer my question. Now that you have pointed out the Find Rec&ord i understand a little better how that fits in , As a test i deleted the Macro Auto keys, but both of the Alt-key combinations stilled worked. So i am stilled confused as to how ALT K is programmed to set the focus of the Search Key .IF I was starting from new how would I set the Alt-Key Combination ? Are there hidden Macro’s /

No, that combination clicks the button. The code should be behind the button. I'm not on a computer right now.

Paul thanks again for coming back to me, I regret the delay in replying, but as septuagenarian I need my beauty sleep! I now understand that the combination clicks the button, but what I fail to understand is where are the combinations stored. My reasoning , if I could learn to create another combination I would have all the information that I required and add this new skill it to my CV!.

Regards Bob

The combination is created by putting & in front of the letter you want to use as the shortcut in the button's caption.

“Eureka” .The penny has finally dropped; I was mistakenly trying to find a code that pointed to that field. "There is no fool like an old fool "

Thank you again for your assistance
