Civic Duty or Civic Right?

Headlines from the New York Times.
Boston’s next mayor is Michelle Wu, the first woman and first person of color in that role.
He Will Be the Second Black Mayor in City History
Of course there is no mention that Virginia's new Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears, is a Black female and an immigrant from Jamaica.
That Virginia's new Attorney General, Jason Miyares, is Hispanic. His family fled Cuba.
These are success stories.

When Democrats win, who are members of a minority group that is somehow considered a stupendous "victory" that deserves big bold headlines. When a Republican wins, who is also a members of a minority group, there is silence by the media. No media totting the horn for their success. Shame.

Lol. You are more informed than the vast majority of my fellow countrymen.

However, as Danzel Washington has said: "If you don't read the news, you're uninformed. If you DO read the news you're misinformed."

Ted Cruz is not bad but Trey Gowdy was my favorite. It is sad that no real accountability comes from these shows...just a lot of noise. When its all said and done, more is said than done.

How did I get so cynical and jaded...?

Trey is also great. I used to like watching him cross-examine Hillary. Jim Jordan is good too. Gets people all confused and muddled under pressure!

Education was ranked around 5th in importance last time around, this time it was ranked the number one issue. The incumbent implied parents had no role in their child's education. Democrats will have to square this with voters nationally.

And yet the margin was still paper thin. Sad, sorry state of affairs

So how do we get informed?

The last time around Biden won by 10 pts, that all went away, last night was a statement, not a razor-thin win.
I would have thought the margin would have been greater given the current landscape. Just about everything I have seen suggested fed up Virginians who were ready to clean house.

They made huge gains in a blue state, I don't get it.

Last time in New Jersey the democrats won by 16 pts now it's absolutely even. For republicans that is a win even if they lose.

They took the "red pill", which "cured" them, I hope permanently, of the Democratic deceit.

And thanks for the segue so that I can follow-up from my previous post. Outnumbered (Fox News program), coincidentally, discussed what I had talked about. They bemoaned the fact that the media does not mention the minority status of Republicans when they win, but highlights the minority's "success" when the winner is a Democrat. Now for the punch line --- if I can paraphrase it correctly. When the conversion came around to Juan Williams (a left wing person) he was asked why Sears and Miyares are not being recognized. His unbelievable response: "But they are Republicans!"

Am I frustrating you with my lack of enthusiasm?

:ROFLMAO: To be honest I have little doubt the Repubs will squander any gains they have made. Both sides do really well pointing out each other differences but they are really crappy at governing. I am however pretty stoked with your state's balls.

@NauticalGent Virginia did something my state tried and failed miserably, so yeah a little bit of frustration / jealousy bubbled up and I strayed outside my lane I apologize for that!

Thanks for the link, I do see a few familiar faces I already subscribe to.

No worries, this is a "no holds barred" zone. You just seemed a little off and I wondered why. Dont you worry, the cycle will continue and your side will have its day.

My daughter asked me about what/when Youngkin was going to do what he said he was going to do (in regards to public schools) and I tried to explain to here that there is much he CAN do if he wants "sugar" from Big Daddy. She seemed a little confused and very disappointed but at least she is paying attention. Having a child getting ready to start school can do that to you.

She doesn't know it yet, but there is NO way I am going to let my granddaughter go to public school.
