Trump Administration Predictions

Last time I checked, the President doesn't make law. He signs the bills presented to him by Congress. I really thought he was going to hold his ground in 2017 or 2018 and not sign the phony budget bill because it was full of garbage as they all are. But, the media went bat-sh** crazy and he caved. We can't shut down the government!!!!!! The world would come to an end. So once he caved the first time, Congress knew he would sign their over-spending bills from then on and he did. It will happen yet again this year.

What Trump needs to do is to write a new EO that says if Congress doesn't present him with a valid budget and he has to let the deadline pass and start laying off non-essential employees, Congressional staff are non-essential and they go first. Then, they collect unemployment and do NOT get their wages retroactively when Congress finally does its ONE AND ONLY job specified by the Constitution.

No more of this continuing resolution bull. The Constitution says the House shall make a budget. Trump needs to make that happen.
Trump did not merely sign these deficit increasing bills, he fought hard for them. The deficit didn't rise because of laws increasing spending, it is because of combination of tax cuts and retirement of the baby boom generation.

The "Big Beautiful Bill" should be called the "Inflation Increase Act". If Trump had not been elected, the tax cuts would have expired and the deficit would have went down, just like it did under Obama in 2013.

So you object to returning children to their father. And someone who had entered the country illegally.
Glad you asked.
To me, that picture captures everything you need to know about the Left, the hypocrisy of using military-style police, pointing assault weapons at children, and deporting kids even when they had loving family members here. Then again, the Left has a very sordid history.

The excessive use of force is an issue here. But why do you think Elian Gonzalez should not have been returned to his father? Not only did his father want him back, he was fully deportable under US policy.

This isn't about me it's about Bill Clinton, and Janet Reno, and how they chose violence over diplomacy in handling the situation.

Janet Reno did worse than that, remember her lethal mishandling of the Waco situation. However, do you support going back to giving refugee status to Cuban refugees, as was the case before 1995? I think that would be good policy.

Cuban refugees were escaping a totalitarian communist regime, while Mexican migrants are driven primarily by economic hardship. That's my answer.

He was fighting hard for the tax cuts. Much of what was promised to be in the bill didn't make it in or got cut by the Senate. NO ONE KNEW what was in the bill at the time the voting took place.

Guess you've never heard of the Laffer curve.

I had to look that one up. Interesting that the idea was coined in 1974 on a paper napkin. lol

It just looks like common sense to me. You cannot tax people at the extreme's or not at all, there is definitely a curve that biases maximum tax revenue that is generated consistently year after year. We need another napkin session showing all the rich people flowing from the communist states to Florida. The more you increase taxes on the rich, the more they take up residence elsewhere where they will be appreciated at a fair rate. So yes, you can maximize taxes on the rich for a short period of time, but it's just enough time for them to pack up and move elsewhere leaving the freeloaders holding the bag.

but it's just enough time for them to pack up and move elsewhere leaving the freeloaders holding the bag.
I personally know 2 millionaires who have done just that - San Salvatore. They went there when Obummer took office and to my knowledge, they are still there.

Guess you've never heard of the Laffer curve.
The dynamics of that are changing. Something you can't seem to understand.

In the end, which is near, all taxes will be paid by the ultra rich, the major, corporations or the financial sector, and all people will either die or be provided a sustenance pay. You obviously want them to die. Not just die, but actually be wiped out.

All the "undesirables". Eh? You and Doc, survival of the fittest. Winner take all.

You and Doc, survival of the fittest. Winner take all.

You talk as though you don't understand that "survival of the fittest" didn't go away when we became "civilized." All it did was add some different stimuli to drive the survival contest. "Survive" doesn't necessarily mean "thrive" - it can mean "get along with less than immediately lethal strain." It doesn't mean "winner take all." It DOES mean that we have different predators who want more than their fair share of anything. And it does mean that we have new groups of "lower members on the food chain." But survival of the fittest didn't go away and it WON'T go away. What is war if it is not an exercise in survival of the fittest? What was the COVID-19 situation if not a test for survival of the fittest? For that matter, what are college entrance exams if not a test for "the fittest"?

Our society is innately competitive. Whether we are talking about million-years-ago ancestors dropping from the trees to become ground foragers or people walking the city streets at night to face the thug-style foragers, life is competition and that competition WILL drive us all into categories based on levels of survival.

Wow. Do you have a deadline like the the climate change people do? Just wondering how long I have to live. I'd like to spend all my money before then having a good time.

My last will and testament might include a phrase similar to: Being of sound mind and aware of the infirmities of the body, regarding my fortune, I spent it all before I died.

I neither want nor don't want people to die. They do that pretty well without asking my permission. And, last I heard, even the ultra-rich die. So now it seems you are merely quibbling about WHEN, not IF.
