This will be used for the Car. Which way to go. I tried the MP3 it was ok, some wires going all over the place. Volume was ok, nothing great.

I heard IPODS, you get alot of static.

I guess I just need some pointers.

Any suggestions?

I have neither an iPod or MP3 player.
I use an FM Transmitter together with a USB Flash Drive (plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet - no wires).
Its a VR3 VR9FM. You can find them on ebay.

I am not a music aficionado by any means so the quality is good enough for me. Its just like listening to the radio.

I use both MP3 CD's in my built-in CD Player and my Dell Digital Jukebox with an FM transmitter. The transmitter has a bit of static at times depending on the area I'm in.

I still use this baby :

No wiring , no nothing , very stable and Hi-fi sound ! ;)

well here is my problem, I just bought a 90 vette and every time I put my foot into it, the cd skips. I tried the mp3 and the buttons are so small I can't seemed to hit the correct one (59 year old man here) and my eyes are not that great as well. So I guess I am leaning towards the Ipod. Plus I don't want a bunch of wires hanging in the car.

most players, be they Ipods or mp3 players, Like a Microsoft Zune or any of the others out there, will have a way to hook up an FM Modulator or transmitter. so you can pretty much go which ever way you want to and there wont be any wires hanging around

What's the advantage of an mp3 or IPod over more old fashioned methods of incar entertainment?

Brian.........Colorado
Kalel..................... funny that you brought that up "Microsoft Zune". My son-in-law, just bought one and we were talking about that and the "FM Modulator or transmitter" there was an issue, due to being a older type of radio. I did not want to alter any of the equipment in the car.

Rich, my cd skips all the time, that's why I need to add something else. I guess that is what you are asking,

Well, for one - I have my Dell Digital Jukebox (MP3/WMA) and I can take it with me in the car, using the FM Transmitter and when I take it with me, it takes up the space of a pack of cigarettes, but it currently has over 8,000 songs on it. If I try to take the equivalent 700-800 CD's, cassettes, or 8-tracks it takes up way more space. :)

Yes but it's the quality of the 8,000 songs, although I guess in the noise of the traffic it's not that important:eek:

In that environment 64Kbps is sufficient resolution, at least to my ears.
