help adding two number fields together??

Hi i need somehelp with access, ive got a form with the stock ID stock level and re-order level, and i need to know how to make a button to add the stock level and re-order level together?? ive got the formual to add the fields together =[Stock Level]+[Re-Order Level] but once the equation has been done what doi add to the formula to get the answer to appear in the stock level field for that record, or am i going about this completely the wrong way, please reply here or message me e-mail or msn me at jonny524@hotmail.com desperately need some help
 
Set the data source for the field in which you want the answer to appear to be your calculation
=[Stock Level]+[Re-Order Level]

Just as an FYI - In the control's properties, this is the Control Source property, not to be confused with the form's Record Source.

Alc - I know it can be easy to mention one thing and have someone think it's something else, so I just wanted to make sure there was no confusion (or as little as possible ;) ) I have done the same thing in the past (and probably still do, at times) in not using the proper terminology. So, hopefully you didn't take it as anything personal, just a clarification. :)

hey, cheers, sorry now im going sound really dim but, data source? In the control's properties?
is this in the button? where abouts?

no if u right click on the txt box and bring up its properties. you will see a control source listed. in that is where u put the calculation
