Big Brother

They should have REAL reality shows. My suggestions would be like...

- like a show where your car just screwed you on the highway and you have to figure out how to get home, get the car fixed and commute for the next week

- a show called "You are expecting twins"
Season two is subtitled "My inlaws are visiting to help for a month" :o

- a show called "MS Access programmer" where you have to code on an old 386 with Access 2.0 :p

So called reality shows (Survivor Big Brother The Apprentice etc).

I watch the first season if it's a good show. The second and subsequent seasons, seen it already.

I was reading the paper today and there was an article on this years Big Brother and apparently this is the most unsuccessful year since Big brother began. Poor turnouts at public evictions and the worst viewing figures ever recorded.

I wonder if this spells the end for the boring half witted tripe that is Big Brother, but more likely they will just bring a new show out with a slightly different format and a different name :P

However I hope they dont ever ban 'Shipwrecked', it's fantastic seing all those young Bikini clad ladies running around the beach all day long :D Certainly brightens up my weekend mornings ;)

Is it because Davini's no longer a size 10?;)

I think the car breaking down and the Access ones are the only ones that haven't been done yet. They make "reality" shows out of just about anything these days. The thing is, there's rarely anything real about them. What's real about stupid amounts of total strangers having to live under the same roof for a month without any communication with the outside world except a diary room?

And, not content with making complete idiots out of Joe Offthestreet, the latest is "celebrity" daftprogramme. "Reality" shows involving celebrities? Get real! The sad thing is that the Mary Jane Public falls for it every time and thinks it's good viewing. It's not, it's cheap viewing. Has nobody noticed that they hook you so you'll phone in and give them loads of money to destroy the life of some poor beggar whose only hope at fame was to act like a total dork to get into the program in the first place?

I think it would be nice if they had a reality show called HOMELESS and all they do on the show is have celebs and regular people team up and work in soup kitchens or shelters and give a little break to people who are actually needy and not just greedy.

That would be good, but why stop at that? Why not have them donate and build a new shelter?
While they're at it, they can try living without their riches for a day or two to see exactly how it feels, maybe they'll appreciate what they have after that.

We used to have things, where Tory MPs lived on benefits for a week. ITs quite easy for anyone to survive for a week, without having to budget for a years bills, not to eat out, buy any clothes , holidays, special occasions etc etc , and then to think its not too bad really, with the prospect of returning to theie easy lifestyle in a few days time.

They would have to do it for months and years so the reality of the permanancy of nothingness hits home.

Yes but my guess is that a little of something is better than a lot of nothing :D

I'm having de ja vu just now, I've already typed this answer and my pc crashed - urgh.

It bothers me this new legislation that they're bringing in to make the long term unemployed work. I can give you a list of reasons why I think people should work, but it's nagging the back of my brain that this is not the solution for the rest of us, I can see us battling to keep our jobs for the salaries we currently get. Councils have recently cut wages with the advent of Single Status, my guess is that once they realise they can get staff for next to nothing (or indeed nothing) there will very quickly be yet another "restructure" on the horizon. If councils take this approach, the private sector will very quickly jump on the band wagon. -

i thoroughly agree that the length of time these celebs etc..do these 'tasks' as it were..is ridiculous. Even the suggestion that they give up their money to build shelters..though why "watch it" i guess is a question..if these things are all on our doorsteps (homelessness) then why aren't we out there helping..

and taking on board what oumahexi just asaid..our council has dropped salaries an dhit the low paid where it hurts so they take strikeaction..then raise so called expert roles (lighting and theatre techies) to stupid money for doing a few hours work...disguests me, but the queue to complain justs gets longer and is a white box marked "suggestions"..leds to a open fire in the basement of the council building..
