Utilisation report - multiple queries into one report

True, but I needed to get it out of the way to move onto the next part of development. I can come back to it later and replace the VBA with a query, if it's even possible.

Utilisation report - multiple queries into one report

Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I still struggled to get the crosstab queries to do what I wanted. When I combined them, there were two rows (in places) for each of jobs and availability when they shared the same week commence date and resource type. In the end, I had to do it in the...

Utilisation report - multiple queries into one report

Thanks for reading, Giz The first part - I need to combine two queries (see attached) to provide combined data (see attached spreadsheet mockup - note highlighted row). This will be the "driver" for the report. The report itself will have rows made up of "Resource type", columns made up of...

Utilisation report - multiple queries into one report

I have a three-column query that tells me how many hours I have available per week for a given resource type (e.g. welders). I have a second three-column query that tells me how many hours of work I have planned per week for a given resource type. I'm hoping to produce a query (the source for a...

If todays date is the 3rd of the month then

Your wife is obviously nicer than mine and allows you to have a quad core. :D I ran the test again - there was still a two-second gap between Date() and Now() but they were both two seconds quicker than my earlier test. There's just so much going on "under the hood" on a Windows PC, it's not...

    percent in report

That's a new one on me. We learned BODMAS (but without cool mnemonics) and I've seen "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally"

If todays date is the 3rd of the month then

Why? I've just done a quick and dirty test. Date() takes 53 seconds while now() takes 51 seconds when in a 100,000,000 iteration loop. The meaning of now() is pretty unequivocal if you use multiple programming languages.

Just so any other newcomers know - my query in the end was the SQL statement:

    Hello everyone

Hi, Gizmo, thanks for the welcome It's the right tool for him, he doesn't know anything else. It's the wrong tool for the job he was trying to get it to do, though.

    What's your best/worst joke?

Surely the word would have been "CELIBRATE" if the only thing wrong was the missed R?

    Unique values from two queries

I get the feeling this should be really simple, but in my decade-long hiatus from Access, I've lost the necessary googling skills to know what keywords I should be using. I'm writing a simple job scheduling database, so I've got resource availability (by week) and job list (by week). I've...

    Hello everyone

Long-time Access user here, but I've had a decade away from programming and databases to pursue other goals. I now find myself dropped right back in it after my father-in-law asked for my opinion on a spreadsheet he was designing and I told him it was the wrong tool for the job, and that he...
