    Missing Libraries - Solution options

That was a great idea DJkarl! I was thinking that I might even be able to run a check on startup to see if it exists on the user's machine, if not copy/paste etc. Unfortunately I could not implement this solution because the user would need admin rights (they don't) on the machine to copy the...

    Missing Libraries - Solution options

Hi DJkarl, I hear and appreciate your input! The problem is however that this application is already going to be included in another major application (web based/SQL server) set to be released in a year or two. The group has no money or resources to upgrade (I'm just volunteering to see where...

    Missing Libraries - Solution options

Yeah, I guess I wasn't being very descriptive with the error I received :) What happens is that it will stop and the debugger will highlight an undeclared variable somewhere and state "Library not found" followed by a prompt to halt an in progress macro. I know the solution sounds simple (to...

    Missing Libraries - Solution options

Hello all, I have a question regarding how to handle missing libraries... I converted an old Access '97 database application to 2003 but it does not work on PCs that only have the 2003 version installed because of a missing library. The library in question is "Microsoft DAO 2.5/3.5...

    US dollar going down toilet

Now if only we could get the US price on things... For instance, the tv that I want cost 3300.00 USD in the US but 3900.00 CDN here in Canada!

    XBOX 360 crashes

I can't say for MS, but usually companies will try and fix it before giving you a replacement (which is usually another unit that they've fixed - not brand new). Also, from this site (http://www.crn.com.au/story.aspx?CIID=85600&src=site-marq) - the extended warranty might be limited to ones...

    XBOX 360 crashes

Well, here are the specs for the package (with no Halo 3 game ????). It's basically an elite with a 20gb hard drive instead of 120 and a new paint job (I think I'll go with an elite before this one).

    XBOX 360 crashes

I would think that you would be ok without it because even if you bought it on day 1 it would be covered under the warranty (imo). I did see one poster say that he didn't need to provide one when he sent his in.

    XBOX 360 crashes

MS is claiming that electricity protection is another possibility for the problems. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=40875 E3 is this week. Some pre-announcements have already been made including a Halo styled 360 (not sure if it will be packaged with the game or not). :)

    XBOX 360 crashes

I plan on getting one as well, but not yet for the same reason (1/3 failures by some accounts! ). I really only want Halo 3 which is supposed to come out in September and I have a PS3 right now, so I might just wait to see if MS comes out with a Halo 3 package deal (hopefully they'll have...

    Anyone heard of Chris Rock?

Yeah, Chris Rock is well known in North America. He got his start in the show "Saturday Night Live" and then went off on his own which worked for a while. He still does lots of tv and movies, but nothing blockbuster that I can think of.

    Happy Canada Day

Thanks Newman - happy Canada Day to you too! :) The seperatist issue is still a hot topic huh?:D As I've mentioned before, I live in Ontario but work in Québec and one thing I've learned is that it is near impossible to change the mind of a seperatist because it has been ingrained for too...

What LCD TV is reasonable for the money?

Ah, so an hdcp-enabled hdmi port. Thanks for clarifying! This is what angers me about this DRM crap. It's there to "protect content" - the end result is someone who can't use his electronics to the fullest in order to "protect" content (from people who always find a way around these things...

What LCD TV is reasonable for the money?

FYI - "High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of Digital Rights Management (DRM) developed by Intel Corporation to control digital audio and video content as it travels across Digital Visual Interface (DVI) or High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connections." The...
