Thanks for that link. I've enabled the Ignore link. I will ask forum members if they want to keep it, or if it is clutter.Yes - i just found an old thread about it:
Feature to ignore selected forum sections
Thanks for the feedback Colin. I'm pleased its made things a lot calmer for you because I know you found the other noise a pain in the butt. There are very few options with this plugin, so you will have to manually unwatch them. This is the control panel, and as you can see, not much there:www.access-programmers.co.uk
I could find his posts ok, but only if I remembered his username.I found a post by VbaInet here:-
autonumber problem
Hi all, I had a backup from a table that I saved to excel. Somehow we lost all the records from the table 10 minutes later. There where gaps in the id numbers due to some delete records in the past, and when I did try to put it back in the access table the records some how shift. is there a...www.access-programmers.co.uk
From his profile I note he was last on in 2021

To be honest, I have no idea what it was like before or if anything has changed regarding search. If I typed in a username, I would want an exact match myself, because otherwise if you typed in say John, and it showed everyone who's username had John in it, you would never find the particular John you were looking for. Too many results. In the backend admin section, if I search for John, I get 55 pages of results. Would you really want that?@Jon
Has the search criteria been modified?
I had a particular mentor when I joined here. Their name was VbaInet.
I expected to be able to type in their username inthe user field for the search dialogue, but it does not even appear.
They have not posted in quite a while, so is there some period, where users are now ignored when typing characters in?
However, if you get the name correct, then their posts do appear?
Keep, please![... Ignore link. [...]
So, who votes for keep, who votes for remove?
Kept!Keep, please!
The site is looking great and finally responds well on mobile. Nice job! Hope you're doing well. The latest version of Xenforo forum software is now out, version 2.3. We are on version 1.x here. So, when I do the upgrade at some unspecified time in the hopefully nearish future, all hell might break loose. Things could break, plugins stop working. No idea what issues I might face. Just a heads up in case the site is down for a while, or a little crazy.
Good to see you back, and congratulations on finding work that brings satisfaction. You are largely responsible for keeping this site going in the past, so the members here should be giving you the thumbs up on your return. And yes, the Xenforo software is excellent. As for me, I have significant challenges going on in the background but I will keep all that to myself. The site is looking great and finally responds well on mobile. Nice job! Hope you're doing well.
