    Katrina ten years on.

We still have plenty of sites that haven't been repaired / redeveloped since the Luftwaffe destroyed them. Meanwhile government gives a London Based Premier league team a stadium, paid for by everyone else.

A new low yesterday, one that almost went without comment here. What a marvellous freedom the US has!

    Jimmy Carter

Decent for Arsenal not good enough for Liverpool. Before my time. Don't even know if he's democrat or republican. I guess he's democrat? But anyone who helps supply us with peanuts can't be all bad. I would guess by reputation he's regarded as a good guy here fairly widely. I guess bush jnr...

Sorry ken. Before my time. Don't even know if he's democrat or republican. I guess he's democrat? But anyone who helps supply us with peanuts can't be all bad. I would guess by reputation he's regarded as a good guy here fairly widely. I guess bush jnr being the other end if the scale. That's...

British are falling out of love with pubs according to new study

There's plenty of classic pubs left, plenty of new pubs bars of every description too. In the cities any way. Much more variety of drink - even in terms of beer - from micro breweries to foreign pints.( I wont go into alcopops/wine/cider soft drinks) In countryside , where driving was important...

Will you upgrade to Windows 10?

Someone's got to be first adopters of new software. But I am slightly surprised that Microsoft developers should be amongst the very first. I'd be waiting for a while for others to have the headaches and wait for fixes - and post fixes online, before I jumped into the latest windows. What's...

    Tunisia

I agree on the bravery of the Tunisians. And a fair chunk of our much vaunted overseas aid bill or man power , should be used to help Tunisia sort its security out - and get it back as a destination to travel to, and restore some Tunisian livelyhoods.

Given his previous, and the fact he's experienced at this. He knew full well Lions were protected in some parts. What was he doing when the lion was supposedly lured out of the reserve. Surely he had a discussion over this - if he wasn't actively involved in its luring. Hopefully the law will...

I have plenty of threads here on ISIS, Palestine etc - I don't remember you offering an opinion on any of them. My perspective is fine thanks. Perhaps his 35k could have helped out with education, aid, rather than killing for a trophy? But you think my perspective is wrong. hmmm

How does everyone feel about Cecil. To me its such a shame an arrogant selfish man deprived an animal of its life, denying other tourists the chance to see the rare animal, for his own personal thrill. He also has too much money and uses it incredibly selfishly. Drop him off in Syria and let...

I can write reasonable code in TSQL, I do a fair bit in sql itself already. I was hoping to make a start, on creating code to handle the data read/writes. So all my validation, inserts, edits etc are done on sql, and only messages are returned to the FE in terms of say its a duplicate, etc etc...

    Access less front end

I need to move away from an access front end on at least part of a db. And so make it more lightweight / portable. Should I be rewriting my data edits/ deletes / inserts as separate stored procedures - as a first step. At the moment lots of this is handled by bound forms? Ta
