How about displaying threads somewhere within a mile of the top of the page?

The new google search box has made an already annoying situation completely ridiculous. No matter what page I go to, the first thread is about 80% of the way down the page. I have to scroll to see anything. Obnoxious! Why can't all this crap be in a side bar?

Question How to create a web based data enrty form in visual studio 2008

Well I don't really know what you are trying to accomplish, but in general on a web page, you would need to create input fields in a form. Then when the user submits the form, you do something with the values. If you are using ASP.NET, you could do<asp:textbox> fields, and then append the data...

    Null checkboxes are grey

Has anyone else run into this? If you have a group of checkboxes, and one of them is selected, then the unselected ones are white. But if none of them are selected, i.e., null value for the field, all of them are grey. I need all of the unselected ones to be white. I think the way to solve...

create ERD by reverse engineering mdb

Does anybody have a database management/UML/case/diagram tool that they really like that isn't super expensive that will successfully reverse engineer an mdb including the relationships between the tables? I know that is a lot to ask, which is why I haven't found anything yet. Everything I...

    My code is possessed

How do you find out what called a procedure? There is one spot in my application where a screen gets "stuck" in an endless refresh cycle. What is strange is that when the code gets to the end of the on current event, and it should be done, for some reason this other procedure starts again and...

    Question Windows 64-bit Vista compatibility

Has anyone tried to deploy the 2003 access runtime on a 64-bit Vista machine? Microsoft's official statement is that 32 bit programs "may or may not work" on 64-bit windows. Since I don't have one, I can't test it out. Has anyone else tried it? Did it work?

Am I crazy or is it my user? (printing problem)

I have a user who has this problem: when he prints a report in my program to a certain printer (local), he gets a printer error, then the report won't print out until he reboots his computer (no error within the program itself). This is what I know so far: He can print the report to any other...

Autoexpand, autocomplete using code instead of combo box

I know I saw an example somewhere of code that could be used in place of the built in autoexpand feature of a combo box, but now that I actually need it, I can't find it! Does anyone remember where that was? The reason I can't use a combo box is because combo boxes are limited to 65,535...

Is this procedure running right now?

I have a procedure that runs on a timer on a form in my program. If a user clicks a button on another form at the precise millisecond that the timer event is running, it causes problems. So, I need to either do something within the timer event to prevent any other code from running until it is...

    Are you an atheist?

I just finished reading Dawkins "The God Delusion", in which he talked about the correlation between level of education and atheism. i.e., more scientific/technical/educated populations have more atheists (that explains why there are so few atheists in U.S., just look at the educational...
