Report Grouping - merged fields and group header, is it possible?

Thanks very much for that - you've obviously got one of those minds that works in that way - I'll redesign the reports and then have a play and report back. It might take a few days as I find time. The daft thing is that I can 'think' database table layouts and designs in my minds eye - I...

Report Grouping - merged fields and group header, is it possible?

Hi CJ_London Thanks for the input - I had wondered if I was going to need to drop to a separate sub-report for the day and weight data. That bit I can probably manage. The coding for the sizing is probably 'beyond my ken' esp. from scratch, but I'll take a look at the google search and see...

Report Grouping - merged fields and group header, is it possible?

Hi CJ_London - hang on the table didn't appear I'd rather not take a visual from my DBase, but I've recreated something that looks vaguely similar in Excel - assume that my table structure for my actual data permits the necessary queries as I am sure they are right: Page Header Animal type...

Report Grouping - merged fields and group header, is it possible?

I have a table which contains the many data of a one to many relationship. Within this 'many table' there maybe anything up to about 6 many items, but there can be fewer. I am making a report for this information. I can use report grouping to pull out just the many items for each one item...

    Calculations

Sometimes I forget that you can actually use more than the fields you have immediately available in your tables. For example the aggregate for work pack one is clearly the sum of all the personal working in all the workpacks in area 1. Why can't you grab this information into a pre-query...

Getting rid of background color on report

I find that I am able to overwrite where it says Background1 (or whatever it comes up with and if I type in #FFFFFF the colour changes to white. Similarly this works for border colours FWIW #000000 appears to be black. Hope this helps someone - sometimes typing is quicker than selecting. :D

    Report footer rides up

"Assuming your users are opening the report from a form, you can code the button to open the report in preview rather than report mode." That might be worth doing and is easy enough to implement. Thanks for the idea

    Calculations

Could you do a separate report for the project Manager, supervisor etc. each running off their own queries and then use them as sub reports in a larger reports which then shows all the outputs. I've got a whole load of data that I'm trying to pull together onto a single highly complicated...

    Calculations

khurram7x it might be worth doing the calculations in separate queries and then adding them into the query that the report runs off of. I've done quite a bit with calculations in Access and used to find them far easier in a query.

    Report footer rides up

I thought it should behave properly too. I've been and taken a fresh look on a night's sleep and a cup of strong coffee. It behaves itself in Print Preview and consequently must be linked to the printing of a report. It is in 'report view' that it re-positions itself under the details...

    Report footer rides up

Hi Stopher Ah, OK, my confusion as I've been playing with both this morning trying to get something to appear at the foot of every page, but even the page footer won't play ball preferring to put the text labels that I've put there just under the report details - Just as the OP describes...

    Report footer rides up

I'm in the middle of this problem too and I expect I will apply the code above to solve the printout side of things. I just wondered if the explanation came with a 'Why?' ? Why does access have something have something that calls itself a 'page footer' which actually doesn't behave as one.

Rotate Type 90 degrees on Reports

Bump - OK, people are still searching for answers to this - how do I know that? Because one of them was me I found this thread as an early Google hit! However, I also have a solution :-D If all you need is a text label - facing the 'right' way i.e top of the letter of the first word at...

Removing all layouts from a report

vbaInet - that is just superb - thank you very much for the quick response - that will def. reduce the undercurrent of 'muttering' that has been issuing from my office for the last hour. I like CNTRL and A as well - I know a fair few shortcut combos, but that is a new one :D I had looked...

Removing all layouts from a report

Hi, I've moved from Access 2007 to Access 2010 - as a previously confident, experienced and dare I claim pretty competent Access 2007 user I'm still not convinced of the wisdom of this, but am sticking with it though I still feel a bit like this: :banghead:at times. Anyhow, I'm getting a...
