    Chart shows only sample data

Regarding saving the chart in view mode, I found that the chart had to be maximized at the moment I saved it in order to save the actual data. At least that's what seemed to work for me.

    Bolding values in detail lines

Does anyone know if it's possible to test the value of a detail line control as it prints in order to change the value of the fontbold property to true for just that detail line. I have the subtotal lines stored in the table along with the detail lines, but would like any lines where the first...

    crosstab report???

You might look at the sample database solution.mdb that comes with Access. There are excellent examples in it for creating crosstab reports; even one that contains dynamic headings across the page. If solution.mdb wasn't loaded onto your machine when Access was installed, you should be able to...

    Dates Between And ???

Also, I believe that you'll want to go to the Parameters box (right click in the upper area of the query for a menu), and state the parameters along with a format of Date/Time.

Creating report from a query in which number of fields vary from time to time

If I were to build the report at a time when the query contained the columns Company and Customer, and then later ran the UI that changes the querydef and selected Company and Contract Number, when the report is then run, it would have not have a place for Contract Number to be displayed. The...

Creating report from a query in which number of fields vary from time to time

I'm working on creating a report that is based on a query that can contain at any given time a different number of fields depending on what the user selects from the UI. The user can select anywhere from 1 to 6 different fields to be breakpoints on the report. If he selects only 1 field, then...

Row and column totals in a crosstab report

If you have the sample database Solution.mdb in your Access samples, open it and and look for the example of a crosstab report. It shows an example for totals. I used it a couple of months ago, and it was very helpful. If you don't have Solution.mdb on your hard drive, it should be on the...

    crosstab report ?

If you're still wanting information on crosstab reports, you might open the solution.mdb that comes with Access and look at some of the sample crosstab reports. I developed some crosstab reports a few weeks ago, and the samples that came with Access proved very helpful. Saved me a lot of...

    Stacked bar chart

I've created a bar chart showing a total for each bar, but the user now wants to see the detail that makes up each bar. I'm thinking stacked bar chart, but it's not available from the Chart Wizard. I've tried using the area chart which appears stacked, but it's not giving us what we really have...

You should be able to use the chart wizard. I just finished creating numerous chart reports using it. If you try it and still have questions, post them, and I'll try to give you more specific answers.

Colors in legend on a chart

Figured it out. When in the Edit Chart mode, I right clicked on each marker on the chart. I was then able to change them to any color I pleased as well as change the size of each.

    Decimal Places

Try using a format of Fixed and then specify 1 as number of decimal places. I have had this same problem, and that has always worked. I've used it in the table design mode and the query design mode as well.

Colors in legend on a chart

Does anyone know if there's a way to indicate which colors should be used for identifying legend labels in a chart. The color yellow appears blank when printed on a black and white printer. I'd like to change it to another color.

    Exporting a Chart

Thank you for replying. Your response was a great help. After reading the article you mentioned, I was able to figure out how to get the chart to Word and then to Powerpoint. I couldn't use Excel, because there were values in the page header section that I needed along with the chart. By...

Using Form textbox values in a query to be referenced by a chart

I'm trying to figure out how to get information from a table onto a chart via a query that uses as it's criteria values contained in text boxes from a form when the form is run. I'm referencing the query when the chart is created, so it refers to the query items in the Transform statement. The...
