    DTPicker

Ah... just discovered that it doesn't allow a different date to be picked, regardless of which dates I choose it always keeps the first and last date selected! bummer :(

    DTPicker

Cheers for that, it definitely sets the values as 1st day and last day of month, just need to attach those values to my query to see how it interacts :D

    Fe/be

That will be very interesting as she doesn't like dealing with anything she doesn't know about (anything more than .xls files .pdf files and she goes off sick!!!) I really do appreciate your input, cheers Bob (and of course everyone who has contributed to this thread) If you see a small...

    Fe/be

I have already created a query that generates a totally unique reference for each record using text (for the branch and user initials) and combined that with date and and autonumber example - HUN-1109/1/BW (HUN is the branch, 1109 is the month and year, 1 is the autonumber, BW is the user...

    Fe/be

hmmm... interesting! Now I'm thinking about going back to my original design of 3 databases (one on the server in each branch, LAN) and exporting to a main dbase for reporting. The database only has 3 forms for user input and 5 tables. Suggestions??

    Fe/be

ah yes, thanks a lot :o) (I've experienced eejit's deleting stuff in the past!) I have another question regarding this now. The FE I mentioned at first will be for sales users to populate the database, is it possible to produce a different FE for one other user to report on the data entered...

    Fe/be

I've just checked with a colleague and we do have a common folder that every office can see (contains common information, doc templates, account application forms, pdf files etc.) So I guess it's just the read/write access that will need to be sorted once it is in place.

Thanks for the super quick reply David Each sales office has a local server and head office has the main server for the company. Manchester office can only see the Manchester server etc. But I'm sure our IT company can make them visible to each other (I'll deal with that later though) I can...

Simple question, hopefully the answer will be too. I am designing a database for our 3 sales offices (located in different towns) to log credits. Can I use 3 FE's to populate the same B/E? I have very basic access knowledge and thought I would ask before messing things up. Hope somebody can...

    Database Window Re-appears!!

No problem. I think I've fixed it!!! I've sat looking at the vba for every form and object (how sad?) and I spotted a 'true' at the end of one of the lines (it was highlighted a different colour from the normal black), I deleted that bit and up to now it seems to work!! A bit more testing I...

    Database Window Re-appears!!

I don't think you understand what I'm saying I don't want people to mess with the database, that's why I want to hide the database window!

    Database Window Re-appears!!

That is available, but it's not what I want to do. I don't want the database window opening at all when it's running, but it does!!

    Database Window Re-appears!!

The option is on Tools-Startup (which I've already done!) The flamin database window re-appears though (not straight away, only after I've opened a form that is maximised)

    Database Window Re-appears!!

I un-tick the 'Display Database Window' option on the startup dialog box, close the database and re-open it, everything is fine until I open a form in maximised state, after this the database window is visible for everybody to see!!! Have I missed something??? Please help

Does anybody know which section I should look in to use a calendar control to filter records in a query? Forms or queries???

    Getting Started

Also look at the Tools-Startup dialog box too, you can hide menus and other stuff to stop further tampering. And as tempting as it gets, try to get the structure and data handling done before you set any forms up, you can spend hours designing forms and arranging controls only to have to do...
