Hello,

I would like to design a database for the following:
Filaments -> Parts
Parts -> Sub-Assemblies
Sub Assemblies -> Assemblies

Sub-Assemblies can contain multiples of the same parts and multiple parts

Assemblies can contain multiple parts and or Sub-Assemblies, possibly multiples of the same

Print Settings could include colour of filament, temperature of extruder, and whether a support is required

Things I would like to accomplish/output:
I would like to be able to enter an order from a customer (possibly containing multiples of Assemblies, Sub-Assemblies, and Parts) and have a summary of total number of each part required, separated by print settings. Also, the total time to print and material consumed.

Nice to haves:
Total shipping volume (to determine shipping costs)
The ability to create printable invoices (prices would only show in relation to how the items were ordered as Assemblies are discounted) including a line for shipping (manually entered).
- calculate tax and keep track of it on a monthly basis

I understand the basics of how to set up the items above the Nice to Haves. I am struggling with getting the output(s) I want and I'm hoping to be pointed in the right direction.

Any help is and would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi
Are you able to upload a zipped copy of your current database?

Hi Joe

Can you upload a full example of an Order from a Customer showing Assemblies, Sub-Assemblies, and Parts?

4 - 2403
1 - 2418
2 - 2419

2 - 2510
6 - 2512

YellowC 30° Support 6.24g 1h 36m:

Hopefully I didn't mess any of the math up, but the above breakdown and totals should be correct.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe
This not what I need to see
Can you layout what a Typical Invoice would look like for a Customer.
Probably best to do this in Excel
