97 vs 2000/2002

Hello,

I know someone who insists on programming in Access 97 as opposed to the newer versions. They say that 97 is a smaller application and therefore runs quicker and is more stable.
The fact that they can't buy 97 anymore hasn't deterred them.

Or there really any advantages in sticking with 97?

There are others that still swear by programming strictly in COLBOL, but as anything else, its only a matter of opinion. I have used all versions, and have found XP Developer to be my favorite so far. You are missing out on a lot if you stick strictly with 97 (once again, my opinion). Familiarity is one of the main reasons people insist in staying with the old, but when it comes to Access, the versions are similiar enough to where it shouldn't take long to adjust.
The logic used for any upgrade is that there have been modifications made for ease of use, security, increased options, increased features, and increased security. I have gone from 97 to 2K and now XP DEV and have not regretted it one bit.
