I wonder if anyone has any thoughts about a weird problem I cam across preparing a picture round for pub quiz.

Attached are;

1) a screen shot of the picture round as it shows on the PC screen: 10 picture with captions in text boxes underneath them. The picture are numbered 1 - 10 with the initials of the subject - all famous sons and daughters of Norfolk.

2) A picture of the file as it actually prints with the number reversed!

Obviously not a problem as I used the screen shot to issue for the for the quiz but I'd be interested in any ideas about the cause of the anomaly

By the way anyone who reads this is welcome to try and answer the quiz round. Send any attempts as a PM.

When you say weird problem do you mean the picture sizes? One suggestion is to use the photo album in PowerPoint and upload the pictures then create the album and although I forget if you can have 10 images with captions on one slide it could help resize and allow you have the same background and possibly have an animation with music to make it more interesting for an on screen display. Printed pdf could then be easily produced.

Just looked at the PDF I see the issue, I think the photo album might resolve that.

The captions within the pdf are different to those of the .jpg; I assume this might be the issue

The problem is that they are representations of the exactly same Word document as best as I could do them for the forum - I'm not interested in better was of doing it - I've already done that. The weird bit is that what comes out of the printer has the captions differently numbered to the document when it's on screen. All I'm interested in is any thoughts on a technical explanation why what prints is different.
